PROFILE
Be welcome to the site of the Brazilian pilot Augusto Farfus Júnior, who was born in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. Here you´ll get to know a little bit more about this 25 year-old pilot who collects a gallery of victories, the first one in mini-motorcycles, at the age of 6. The first title came then, and was added, later, to the more than 10 national and international achievements. Therefore, if only one word was necessary to define this boy, who at the age of 12 left his parents´ house to dedicate to the races, at that time, in São Paulo, this word would be Determination. And Augusto´s Determination is with a capital D, a strong word which is directly connected to him. He´s determined in his personal life and, moreover, in the tracks.
Augusto Farfus Jr ,born in Curitiba, is nowadays living in Monaco, where he has built a big part of his career and where, race after race, has conquered the respect of the great competitors. His debut was in Brazil, participating in mini-motorbikes competitions. In his first year, and the only one on two wheels, Augusto conquered two titles. But he wanted more. The six-year-old boy dreamed with F-1. That´s why he moved to go-kart, years later to monoposts and, recently, to Touring. Augusto nowadays holds one of the main positions at BMW in the World Touring Car Competition (WTCC), the only one, besides F-1, to be recognized and have credentials by the Federation Internationale de l´Automobile (FIA).
The power to win and the passion for speed have been a part of Augusto´s life. Nowadays Augusto´s career expresses that these many titles and achievements are only the beginning. What is still to come is a path full of many victories. And to get there, Augusto has very clear objectives. They are not only dreams, they are targets.
The beginning of the races was on a soil track in the category mini-motos 50cc,in Curitiba, where Augusto accelerated for the first time at the age of 6. For this reason he became known as the Magic Motorcycle Boy, getting applause and space in the media, as well as prestige.
In 1992 Augusto Farfus Jr. started to compete and dominate the go-kart championships. His debut was in April, in the Paranaense Championship, in the Category Cadet. Simultaneously, in June of the same year, he started in the Paulista Championship of Formula Kart and, in July, participated in the Brazilian Cup of Go Kart, in Porto Alegre. The first title in the category came in the end of that first year with the achievement of Paranaense Championship. From 1993, at the age of 10, Augusto started to dispute go kart competitions outside Paraná, conquering titles in many categories such as the Paulista (State of Sao Paulo) Tri-Champion and Tri-Champion of Formula Parrila in São Paulo. A sequence of victories brought to Augusto the invitation of the Italian go kart team CRG to be the official pilot. At that time the CRG was the leader team in Europe. The pilot packed and moved to Europe where he easily got adapted to the tracks, conquering many important international titles.
Being only 16 years old, after having gone through all possibilities in the world of go kart, Augusto was ready for higher skies. In 2000, from the world of go kart he jumped to singleseaters, competing in the European and Italian Championship of Formula Renault for the Italian team Cram Competition. In the following year Augusto raced for the team RC Motorsport conquering the title of European Champion of Formula Renault. As a result of having the cup in his hands, in 2003 he received the invitation to participate in the European Formula 3000 Championship as the first pilot for Draco team; once more he achieved the title of Champion , but in that year, two races in advance. And that´s one of the reasons why, from his first go kart race back in 1992 until today, with his brilliant results and hard marketing efforts on his name and image, Augusto has always guaranteed excellent results to his sponsors. It has been more than 32 million reais, stated on monthly reports with measurement of centimeters and electronic counting.
